About Hobbitenango
Hobbitenango is located in an area called Vuelta Grande, just a 20 minute drive from Antigua, Guatemala. It was founded out of a love of nature, fun and a desire to disconnect from the hectic, busy world and reconnect with what is important in life. Originally intended to be a small ecological village shared among friends, Hobbitenango has been embraced by locals and visitors from all over the world and has become an area that can be enjoyed by anyone who wishes to visit.
Since 2015, we have built several hobbit-style houses and restaurants, all designed after our favorite fantasy genres and intended to inspire joy and wonder in adults and children alike.
Currently, we have over 26 areas and attractions to enjoy within the park, from our restaurants to our fairground rides and hotel. Come spend the day or spend the night and enjoy the beautiful views over the Panchoy Valley and the surrounding volcanoes.
Did you know that...
When Hobbitenango opened its round doors in 2015, the only jobs in our area were farming or construction, so many young people moved away in search of better paying work. We are proud to now employ over a hundred of our local neighbors. We offer continuing education in the growing tourism industry with ongoing training in hospitality, park management, gastronomy, world-class bartending and English classes for all of our staff. We work hard to provide the best service to our customers and the best opportunities for our valued employees...the next generation of happy Hobbits....
